Kiril Norell Rizov was a character created by OPA. He was of Macedonian origin and allegedly lived and worked in Stockholm. The idea was to produce skilful but superficial works on his behalf that would fall into the category of new media art. A person of dubious international fame who would become a hero in his home country. The character was created in 2004 as part of the Balkan Black Box Festival residency in Berlin. Kiril’s piece “Why” was premiered there.
