In accordance with the growing popularity of the neoconservative politics in both the Macedonian society and the Macedonian cultural institutions, the return to historic conventions, the verities of tradition and the interest in the artist as genius are becoming dominant practices in the Macedonian visual arts scene. Following the new stream, OPA created this self-portrait as a simulation of a conventional painting – manipulated photography printed on canvas.
